What can Physical Therapy do for me?

Physical therapists are skilled movement specialists. They are qualified to examine, assess movement, and rehabilitate patients who have musculoskeletal pain or functional limitations.

Our Doctor of Physical Therapists here at OO Movement Solutions want to help you improve your quality of life, achieve your fitness goals, and maintain your active independence.

Do I need a Doctor’s referral to start Physical Therapy with OO Movement Solutions?

In the state of Texas, patients are able to be evaluated and treated by a licensed physical therapist without a physician’s referral, this is called Direct Access. Direct access can be beneficial to patients in that it allows expedited musculoskeletal evaluation and treatment to get you back to functionality as quick as possible. Patients are able to save time, reduce costs, and improve outcomes when they are seen right away to address and correct their movement dysfunctions.

There may be times where conditions may warrant referral to other qualified healthcare practitioners. If we feel that your condition is more involved or we are not seeing progress, we will refer you to an appropriate specialists. Your Doctor of Physical Therapy will be able to do so accordingly.

Do you accept insurance?

OO Movement Solutions does not accept insurance. We are a fee-for-service cash pay provider that does not bill any insurance companies. There are benefits to utilizing the cash based model approach. Let us explain two ways.

First, your physical therapy duration of care will not be dictated by what the insurance companies allow. We want to get you better as quick as possible but we understand that you may need a longer duration of care until you feel your best. Second, you receive premium specialized one-on-one treatment plans that are individualized to you. This allows you to have pro athlete like quality of care in getting you better.  Gone are the days where you don’t feel like you’re getting undivided attention in your care and where your therapy time is split between other patients.

I want to submit a self-claim to get reimbursement of services from my insurance company, can I do this?

This depends on the insurance you have. You should contact your insurance company and inquire about reimbursement for “out-of-network” physical therapy expenses. Upon request, we will provide you with a super bill receipt that identifies services that were rendered and the treatment codes. You can then use this and coordinate with your insurance company.

How long are treatments?

We must first start with an initial evaluation. This initial evaluation gives us the foundation and plan to get you back to your best athletic ability. Initial evaluations last for 1 hour. We have treatments that last for 1 hour and we have treatments that last for 30 minutes. Your Doctor of Physical Therapy will discuss with you what time frame is best for your treatment sessions.

How many treatment sessions do I need?

Our goal is to get you better as quick as possible. We understand that patients can present with minor, major, or severe chronic injuries and movement issues. Each patient case varies. Some patients will require longer treatment sessions than others. As stated before, our goal is to get you better as quick as possible.

Will I be sharing my treatment time with another patient?

No. You get one-on-one undivided attention devoted to your care with our specialists.

What is your treatment approach?

We use a hands-on approach. We utilize an array of techniques including manual therapy such as soft tissue mobilization or manipulations, dry needling, cupping, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, and performance based therapeutic exercise to reinforce proper movement patterns.
